The latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop official firmware update is now available for T-Mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the model number SM-G920T.

The new firmware, which comes with the build number “G920TUVU2COF8,” includes better RAM management and improved battery life, according to T-Mobile. In addition, the update also includes key bug fixes and support for RAW and lower ISO values for third-party camera apps.

Users, who are yet to receive an over-the-air update for the firmware, can install the new version on their devices manually using Odin. In case of rooted devices, users will have to remove any recovery software or custom ROM installed on their handsets.

Here are some key aspects to know before performing the manual installation:

    • All personal data on the device must have proper backup
    • The handset should have at least 80 percent battery power
    • USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy S6 must be installed on the computer
    • USB debugging must be enabled on the phone
    • Make sure that the device is a Samsung Galaxy S6 with the model number SM-G920T
